The compliance core
Mandatory Public Disclosure is the part that must be right
CBSE's affiliation bye-laws require affiliated schools to maintain a Mandatory Public Disclosure section on their website, presenting defined general, documentary, academic and infrastructure information in a prescribed format. It is not a design decision. It covers the affiliation and recognition certificates, the trust or society registration, the no-objection certificate, building and fire safety certificates, the DEO certificate confirming compliance, land documentation, the fee structure, staff details with qualifications, student strength, and results — with the supporting documents published as accessible files.
Most school website design we are asked to replace fails this in the same two ways. Either the documents exist but are scattered across pages with no single disclosure section, or the section exists and the scanned PDFs are enormous, unreadable on a phone, and in some cases broken links. Both are avoidable and both are exactly what an inspection or a diligent parent notices.
We build the disclosure section as a structured, tabulated area with each document as a named, compressed, working file, and a review date attached so certificates approaching expiry are visible rather than discovered late. Schools under other boards have their own analogous requirements, and the same structure adapts.
One area needing genuine care: children's photographs. Student images should be published only with parental consent, and identifying detail — full names alongside class and photograph, house addresses, individual timetables — should not sit on a public page. This is a child-safety matter first and a data-protection matter second.
